I knew I wanted herb plants to put in my kitchenette but I didn’t know exactly how I wanted to do this. I looked through Pinterest to get some ideas, but ultimately you need to work with the supplies in hand. So one day shopping at Walmart with Mahlia, we briefly looked at their garden center and I found the cutest pots! I knew with some stencils and a sharpie I could create it exactly how I imagined it!
I stenciled the names on the front of the pots. Then I planted Thyme, Rosemary, Sweet Basil and Parsley. A very simple and quick project but very fun!
The other night for dinner we had baked chicken. I drizzled it with olive oil, seasoning salt, then I grabbed some fresh herbs from my kitchenette and shredded it over the chicken. So good!
Brent now wants more herbs! I will need to pick up some more pots for chives, cilantro and mint!
I loved these pots so much that I decided to make herb gardens as end-of-year teacher gifts! I found these cute flower pots from Dollar General and again used my trusty stencils and sharpies to decorate.
I stenciled the Teachers names, “Miss Carly’s Herb Garden” on the sides of the pots and the name of the herbs around the rims. We planted three herbs in each pot, Thyme, Oregano and Rosemary.
I found a cute idea on Pinterest for a sign saying “Thank You For Helping Me Grow“. Instead of using their printable, I fashioned a sign out of popsicle sticks! Anytime I get the chance to use my hot glue gun, I’m a happy gal!
The teachers loved these, and Mahlia and Paxton loved helping put these together for them! We were truly blessed this year, as we had the most amazing teachers!
As new life flows through these delicious herbs, more creative ideas are flowing out of me! This weather has me inspired!
