I knew I wanted herb plants to put in my kitchenette but I didn’t know exactly how I wanted to do this. I looked through Pinterest to get some ideas, but ultimately you need to work with the supplies in hand. So one day shopping at Walmart with Mahlia, we briefly looked at their garden center and I found the cutest pots! I knew with some stencils and a sharpie I could create it exactly how I imagined it! Seven years ago Brent’s sister and her family were moving back to St. Louis (Boo). So we were able to buy their dining room table from them (Yay). We had a glass top table at the time with stone pillars that I loved but it was not kid friendly, it wasn’t adult-friendly as I had hurt myself on this table many times before. Since Paxton was only months old, their table was a perfect addition to our home. Continue reading “DIY Dining Table Makeover” »
Memory loss has been the theme of the books I’ve read recently. I am currently reading “Remembering Mia” where a mother wakes from a coma and has no recollection of how she got their or what’s happened to her daughter. This was one of my dollar finds from Dollar General. Who knew they carried books! Continue reading ““The Progeny” by Tosca Lee” »
I have taken a break and have not been writing as much. Since I’m new to the blogging world, I am trying to figure out a good balance between being a Mom, managing our household, volunteering, doing projects and finding time to write. Continue reading “What’s Been Going On!” »
Our favorite vacation was definitely our Disney land and sea excursion we took last spring. We always knew we wanted to take the kids to Disney but when Brent suggested we try a Disney cruise and parks, I thought, “Is that allowed”! It seemed like a dream come true! But that’s the thing with Disney, the right travel agent and an awesome husband…they do make dreams come true! Continue reading “Disney Land and Sea Vacation Part 1” »
Who else is excited that we made it through winter and spring is finally here? I felt like winter went by super fast and yet I have had cabin fever and I am so ready to put these winters blues in the past!
I am motivated to start working on my spring cleaning! My goal is to spring clean in 3 different areas: Continue reading “Spring Cleaning” »
I noticed it when Mahlia was two. We were shopping at a store and she was singing her favorite song by the Beetles, “Here Comes the Sun”. As we were leaving the store I saw it…the light…the blessing. Mahlia is constantly singing wherever she is, especially at home, and I hate to admit it, but I became immune to it. But on this day I saw what was actually going on, and I will never forget this day. Continue reading “Be the Light” »
It’s a Saturday night and I’m sitting across from my husband, Brent, on date night at one of our favorite restaurants we haven’t been to in ages. The lights are dim, we’re enjoying the basket of bread and an adult beverage when I look at him and ask “Can I say something honestly?” I see the look of concern on his face as he responds, “How honest?” I feel like it’s something I shouldn’t say out loud but here it goes… Continue reading “Date Night” »
Between Barbie playing, light saber battles and birthday parties, I was able to get “The Shack” read! I am learning to read among chaos and distractions. And I feel I have accomplished this! I am not going to pretend to be a professional review writer or make this into a school essay to be turned in. I only want to share something that I love. The love to read and to tell you about a book from my own perspective. Continue reading ““The Shack” Book Review” »
